About Judith
My passion is helping nonprofit organizations go from struggling or getting by to thriving. My mission is to support you - whether you're a nonprofit board member, staff member or volunteer - as you work to make a difference in people's lives.
I'm known as slightly irreverent, very knowledgeable, creative, and direct. My coaching and training style is engaging yet authoritative. There is accountability without guilt and always a healthy touch of humor.
During my more than 20 years experience working with and in the nonprofit sector, I've worked in anti-poverty programs in Appalachia, provided substance abuse counseling, and developed community-based health care programs.
An experienced fundraiser, I
- Helped established the successful Children's Miracle Network Telethon in Oklahoma City.
- Developed initiatives in higher education, community health care, and medical research as a trustee of a private foundation.
- Served as an instructor in fund development for the American Public Health Association's Maternal and Child Health Institute.
- Created and taught a continuing education curriculum in resource development for nonprofits.
I enjoy creating supportive and fun learning environments that encourage participant interaction and learning in action.
Writing is a key part of my work. I've written numerous articles on nonprofit management, relationship-based fundraising, measuring success, and communicating online and several manuals on program evaluation.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
For the past several years, I've used my experience to deliver in-person workshops, training programs, and presentations with one key message - Think BOLDLY about who you are and the impact you have in your communities.
That message is the core principle of my Learning Exchange, a place where we learn and support each other and an environment to help you thrive.
My free monthly e-newsletter is a practical fundraising and communication guide for the time and resource constrained nonprofit. You can subscribe by using the form at the left.
You can participate in affordable, results-focused training through in-person workshops, on-site consulting and training programs, teleclasses, teleseminars, and web-based programs.
